Chinese New Year Festival
On Maui, many residents are of Chinese descent, and Chinese culture has impacted the island (and all of Hawaii) in significant ways. Learn more and experience the culture first hand when you join the Chinese community of Lahaina to ring in Chinese New Year with a community festival. Enjoy beautiful cultural performances including a traditional Lion’s Dance, tea and dessert tastings, crafts, music and more.
Maui Whale Festival
Excited to see Humpback whales? The Maui-based Whale Festival brings citizens and guests alike together to celebrate these Hawaiian natural treasures. Enjoy serenaded whale watching, educational activities, a whale-centric film festival, art fair, outdoor dining and much more. Activities center around Ma’alaea Harbor.
Cherry Blossom Festival
Hawaii’s longest consecutive ethnic event, the Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the islands’ rich Japanese heritage and highlights young women of Japanese descent. Enjoy an annual golf tournament, contestant appearances, a haiku art competition and even a Festival Ball. Events are held on Oahu.

There’s something for everyone in February! Check out Heiva I Hawaii, a Tahitian culture festival, and get your Old West on at the Annual Panaewa Stampede Rodeo(Big Island).
