Maui offers its share of unique and local drinks. Located on the island are a number of breweries, wineries, distilleries, coffee farmers and roasters. Hawaii’s abundance of tropical fruits highly influence the local drinks. Listed are a few places where you can try Hawaiian drinks and see how they are made. Maui Brewing Company beer is popular and sold throughout the United States and internationally. While in Maui, you can go on a 45 minute guided tour of the brewhouse, cellar, and packaging line. The tour ends with a tasting session of Maui Brewing Co.’s flagship beers at the Kihei Tasting Room. Hawaii was known as a global pineapple producer for many years and it is an important part of the history of the islands. So, it is no surprise that Hawaii specializes in premium pineapple wines. MauiWine produces three pineapple wines made from local, fresh-cut pineapples; Maui Blanc, Maui Splash, and Hula O Maui. Tasting room sessions and tours of the facility provide an opportunity to taste these wines. Along with pineapple wine, MauiWine has a selection of estate and rose ranch wines that you can taste and purchase as well. The distillery produces three brands of spirits: Pau Maui Vodka, Sammy's Beach Bar Rum, Paniolo Whiskey, and Maui Moon Vodka. The spirits are infused with local ingredients such as pineapple, hibiscus, and macadamia nut, making for a truly unique Hawaiian flavor. Grandma’s Coffee uses natural and organic methods to grow and produce their gourmet coffee. Stop by for breakfast and to try grandma’s original recipe.
