Maui’s Shopping Malls

It is always fun to go shopping while on vacation as a way to relax, unwind, and check out the local scene. Sometimes, shopping malls are just as intriguing as the small local shops that you can’t find on the mainland. This is mostly because every mall has its own distinct atmosphere. Maui has five unique shopping malls that are scattered throughout the island.

Whalers Village

Whalers Village feels like a little village with its surrounding restaurants, hotels and easy access to Ka’anapali beach. The three-story shopping mall is located in Lahaina. There is parking available on-site for $3 per half hour. This aesthetically pleasing, open-air mall with an ocean view is perfect for window shopping even if you don’t have anything in mind that you need to buy. There are enough shops and activities that you could spend a whole day here if desired. Skyline Culture Tour You can find a list of the wide variety of stores here. Also, be sure to look into upcoming events that will be taking place at the mall before you visit as there are usually exciting things like Hula Lessons for your family to participate in.

Lahaina Cannery Mall

The Lahaina Cannery Mall property was once home to a pineapple cannery and it is now the only fully enclosed and air-conditioned mall on Maui. This mall is also located in Lahaina. It is well known for its boutique retail stores that can only be found on Maui. Skyline Culture Tour The Cannery Mall also hosts a lot of fun, free events such as free ukulele lessons and free hula lessons. It is a very family-friendly place to spend time while on Maui.

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center

The Queen Ka’ahumanu Center is also known as Queen K. It is located in Kahului. This is the biggest shopping mall on Maui. It is also considered Maui’s town square because of its location and more than 100 shops. Here you will find island-style boutiques as well as nationally-recognized brands. Skyline Culture Tour The mall hosts a farmer’s market every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This farmer’s market is a perfect place to find fresh local fruits and veggies as well as baked goods and fresh local fish.

Maui Mall

Maui Mall is located just five minutes from the airport in Kahului. It is a great spot to stretch your legs and explore after a long flight. This mall is better known for its movie theater and Whole Foods grocery store than its other shops, but there are still a few gems here. Skyline Culture Tour Like the other malls on Maui, there are a lot of events hosted here such as Zumba classes and Hula lessons.

The Shops at Wailea

The Shops at Wailea is a shopping mall located in Wailea. This mall is known for its luxury brands such as Gucci and Prada, along with other popular brand names like Billabong and GAP.
