Packing for April Weather on Maui

Topics: , ,
When packing a suitcase for the Maui springtime vacation of your dreams, there are a lot of questions to ask yourself. Can you fit everything you need in a carry on or do you need a larger bag? Do you have your camera and cell phone chargers? Do you have headphones and a book for during the flight? How many swimming suits do you need? Are you going to be too warm or too cold? Are you going to see the sunrise? There are so many things you will want to fit in your suitcase for the trip that trying to shove in a winter jacket could turn your packing strategy into a nightmare. When packing, be sure to factor in the time of day you will be participating in certain activities. For example, if you are going to see the sunrise on the top of Haleakalā, pack some extra layers as it will be chilly up there. The summit district of Haleakalā National Park is at a much higher altitude than anywhere else on the island. So, it doesn’t feel tropical like the rest of Maui. The good news is that when you tour the summit district with Skyline Hawaii, we will provide a winter jacket and windbreaker pants to wear so you will stay warm during the tour. This means that you don’t have to use up valuable space in your suitcase for bulky winter attire! For most activities that you will do on your tropical island vacation, the clothes and shoes you need will not take up a lot of space. Nevertheless, it is important to plan ahead and bring outfits that will be comfortable to wear during each exciting activity you will be enjoying on the island. For example, pack a pair of closed toe shoes for ziplining, swimming suits for beach days, a long sleeve shirt for seeing the sunrise and maybe a more formal outfit for a night on the town. Having the extra space in your luggage for items you want to bring, rather than needing to bring a winter coat, will make packing a breeze.
