What to Know About Ziplining with Kids

Topics: , , , , ,
Ziplining is a fun adventure for the whole family but there are a couple of things to consider before booking your family’s next adventure. These things to think about include the age and weight requirements for our zipline courses in Hawaii. It can also be very helpful to see what other parents have said about ziplining with us!

Step on the Scale

Check if your child meets the weight requirements before booking a zipline tour The first thing to consider is the weight restrictions on our zipline courses. Each of our zipline courses are unique so each one has specific weight requirements in place for the safety of our guests. Weight effects things like zipping speed, so if your child does not weigh enough he or she could potentially go very slowly across the line and not enjoy themselves or they could even stop on the line before reaching the other end of the line. Neither option would be fun for you or your child, so that is why it is important to have your child step on the scale before you book a tour with us. Here are our zipline course weight requirements per location:
  • For all of our Ka’anapali zipline courses, you have to weigh between 80 and 260 lbs.
  • For our Haleakala zipline course, you have to weigh between 60 and 260 lbs.
  • For our Kauai 5-line course, you have to weigh between 60 and 260 lbs, for the Kauai 8-line course you have to weigh between 80 and 260 lbs.

Check the Calendar

Make sure you child is old enough to zipline with us Next, it is important to consider the age restrictions on our zipline courses. Age and weight requirements must both be met in order to zipline with us at any of our zipline courses. They are not an either or option. Like our weight restrictions, we have age requirements in place for the safety and enjoyment of our guests. Here are our zipline age requirements per location:
  • For our Ka’anapali zipline courses, you must be at least 10 years old.
  • For our Kauai 8-line course, you must be at least 10 years old.
  • For our Big Island zipline course, you must be at least 10 years old.
  • For our Haleakala zipline course, you must be at least 8 years old.
  • For our Kauai 5-line zipline course, you must be at least 8 years old.
In addition to meeting the set age restrictions, we also require that any kids under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign for them in order to allow them to zipline with us. If your child is between the ages of 15 and 17 years old, he or she needs an adult signature on their waiver, but they can take part in our tours without an adult in their group on tour. On the other hand, if your child is under the age of 15, he or she must have an adult sign the waiver and an adult must participate in the zipline tour with the child. The adult who signs the waver can be a parent, relative or friend who is 18 years old or older. We don’t require the adult to be a parent or guardian. So, for example, if your pre-teen wants to zipline with us but ziplining isn’t your thing, you can send him or her on the tour with your friend, as long as this friend is 18 years old or older, while you relax on the beach.
