Staying cool during the summer months on Maui can be challenging with the increased humidity and warmer temperatures. Luckily, we have scouted out some refreshing places and things to do to keep you cool.

1. Iao Valley State Park

Finding fresh water can be difficult without having to drive to the other side of the island. Well, look no further than the iconic Iao Valley State Park. Iao has two separate entrances with parking and access to the freshwater stream. After the park was closed for a period of time after a heavy flood, some of the paths and walkways were altered, so the park has a whole new look. Pack a bathing suit and picnic lunch to enjoy some of the pools and mini waterfalls to refresh your day on Maui. It is located in Wailuku, the central part of Maui near the airport.

2. Twin Falls, Road to Hana

Twin Falls Want to find a waterfall without driving all the way to Hana? Stop at this easy access spot with a small fruit stand and breathtaking waterfall. Take your adventure to the next level and jump off the side of the waterfall! Get that perfect Instagram waterfall photo to share with your friends. It is freshwater, so it is much cooler than the ocean and makes for a great afternoon to change the scenery. You can also bring floaties to float around in the pool at the base of the waterfall as well. Always use caution when visiting streams and waterfalls to be aware of flash floods and quick changes in weather.

3. Ululani’s Shave Ice

You don’t want to miss this unique treat!
