Yoga with Goats in Kula

Topics: , , ,
Kula is an open-air, agricultural community located in Upcountry Maui. In fact, the word Kula literally means open meadows when translated from Hawaiian. Because of the open air and beautiful ocean views, this area is a perfect location to enjoy relaxing outdoor activities such as yoga. Maui Goat Yoga is located at about 3,000 feet above sea level in Kula on the slopes of Haleakalā. Upcountry is known for ranching so it is very common to see sheep, goats and horses grazing in the fields. But, practicing yoga with a goat is an experience that is anything but common. The experience "is addicting and makes you smile," according to Maui Goat Yoga’s website. They offer two yoga class experiences. The first is the classic Maui Goat Yoga class with miniature goats. This class costs $32 and lasts for an hour and fifteen minutes. These yoga classes are offered weekly on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The second yoga class option is the Maui Goat Yoga and Sunset Maui Goat Happy Hour. During this class, you will flow to live music and soak up the beauty of the sunset while the miniature goats make you smile. This class is held every Friday from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. and costs $52. Maui Goat Yoga makes the experience very convenient with their $5 mat rentals, so there is no need to pack your yoga mat for vacation. If you want to try this once in a lifetime zen experience, make sure to book your spot ahead of time because no walk-ins are allowed.
