- INSPECTED DAILY: Each day, our trained staff thoroughly inspects all lines, platforms, trails, and equipment, and an accredited 3rd party ACCT inspector reviews all ziplines, equipment, and practices annually.
- TESTED FOR SAFETY: All our equipment is tested to hold at least 5,000 pounds and each zipline cable has a minimum breaking strength of over 26,000 pounds.
- TRAINED GUIDES: Every Skyline zipline guide goes through an 80-hour training process (double the industry standard) covering all aspects of equipment, safety, and operations. They then undergo weeks of additional on-the-job training before officially earning the title of Skyline Zipline Guide.
See Maui From a Whole New Perspective.
Is the zipline inside Haleakala National Park?
No, Skyline’s Haleakala zipline course is located a few miles outside of Haleakala National Park.
Are your ziplines family-friendly?
Both of our zip line tours are high-flying adventures that kids and the kid-at-heart will love. For safety reasons we do have age and weight requirements. Our Haleakala Zipline Tours get rave reviews from many parents since it is one of the only family-friendly zipline courses on the island that accommodates smaller children. Haleakala Tours are safe for kids ages 8 and up and weigh at least 60 lbs. Kaanapali Tours are perfect for kids 10 and over who weigh at least 80 lbs. For more information about weight minimums and maximums check out our blog: Why there are weight requirements for ziplining.
What happens if it rains?
Tours operate rain or shine. If we do cancel, we’ll make every effort to contact you in advance to reschedule or refund the tour.
Is ziplining safe?
At Skyline? Absolutely. We’ve overseen over 3 million crossings—more than any other zipline company in the U.S. All our equipment is tested regularly, and our guides receive twice the amount of training required by the industry.
How long are the zipline tours?
Our Haleakala 5-Line Adventure Tour is our shortest tour at about 2 hours. The Kaanapali 8-Line Adventure Tour typically takes about 2.5-3.5 hours, depending on group size. Lastly, if you’re looking to plan an entire day of outdoor fun we highly recommend our popular Haleakala Sunrise & Zip Adventure Tour. This tour, which is about 12 hours long, starts with experiencing the legendary sunrise at the top of Haleakala and ends at our 5-line zipline course.
